Top 10 Smartest Dog Breeds In The World

Dogs have been a loyal friend to humans since the Stone Age. They’re intelligent in a way that’s excellent for humans, which is a deliberate condition of affairs; humans have raised dogs to be wonderful canine companions for millennia. As noted by renowned canine researcher and professor Stanley Coren, PhD, in his iconic book The Intelligence of Dogs, the smartest dog breeds have served as more than man’s best friend at any point in history: they’ve been navigators and field guides, wartime comrades, detectives, garbage collectors, movie stars, and security consultants. Dogs are one of the few creatures who have flown to space, and they’ve physically and metaphorically saved countless lives.

According to Coren, the typical dog can understand 160 words, with some canines understanding as much as 250 or more.

Although this is true of all dogs, the brightest dog breeds have specific characteristics that elevate their intelligence to the next level. Others are renowned as the most intelligent dogs, at least according to Coren’s criteria, just as others of our furry friends are known for being friendly dog breeds, small dog breeds, or dogs that don’t shed.
